The medallion centerpiece is made of
serpentine, a mineral that symbolizes the
gentleness we need to extend to
ourselves if we are to enjoy peaceful
living. This graceful hand carving of
profiles of birds features symmetrical
curves. The medallion's form is echoed
in the oval shape of the smaller serpen-
tine bead. By thinking about these forms
and their relationships we can better
understand how nature builds peace into
its very design. We too can find greater
peace in our daily lives by moving away
